Welcome to the Flying Tigers 4H Club
Welcome to the Flying Tigers 4H Aerospace Club. We are a 4H club, solely dedicated to learning about and exploring all aspects of aerospace. Our interests range from rocketry and space science to general aviation and radio-controlled aero modeling. Club members work on a variety of hands-on projects and engineering competitions throughout the year as well as many fun aerospace activities. We also participate in a number of outings and events sponsored by other organizations interested in promoting aerospace education, such as the local chapter of the National Association of Rocketry and the DC Radio Control Club.
Our club, like all 4H clubs, is run by its members. 4Hers in our club campaign and run for elected office each November. We have officer positions for Club President, Vice President, Treasurer and Recording Secretary. We also have appointed officers for Club Historian and Recreation Leader. All officers serve a maximum two year limit, so everyone has an opportunity to serve their club in a leadership role.

Our members spend their 4H year working on aerospace projects in rocketry and space sciences, radio controlled aero modeling and general aviation. Each year, we try to sponsor members to participate in a special aerospace related competition. We have sent teams to the Maryland Engineering Challenges at the Baltimore Museum of Industry to compete in the Paper Airplane Challenge and the Hovercraft Challenge. Several of our members compete at NARHAMs rocketry events through their Cadet program. And new for this year, we are hosting the 4H Maryland State Rocketry Competition, open to all 4Hers across the state!
We also do community outreach and promotion in aerospace engineering as well as general community service work. Our members enjoy aerospace related family outings and field trips each year; a chance to share their interests with others and further their understanding of their project area. Like all 4H clubs, our members are encouraged to develop their leadership skills through hands on project work, record-keeping, demonstrations and public speaking activities, community service work and participation in the Montgomery County Fair.
